Cassy Harvey – Coordinator

Growing up in a small community taught Cassy you have to get out and search for who you want to be. This philosophy led to volunteer work in radio and youth development, a Journalism degree, and travel through Europe and around Australia.

After time in the hospitality industry honing skills in customer service and management, a shift in focus led to further study and a move towards the community and enterprise sector.

A series of right place, right time opportunities have led to Cassy once again working with young people – where her passion lies.  Cassy began working at Human in July 2009 as the Client Liaison Officer for design services, before moving into the role of lowercase Coordinator in October 2010.

During her time at Human, Cassy has undertaken a number of professional development courses such as Mental Health First Aid (for young people), Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training, and ECSSARE Facilitation Training.

Throughout her time at Human, Cassy has developed her skills and experience in youth and community cultural development, project development, strategy, partnership development, and management of lowercase staff and projects. She is excited to bring new opportunities to young people experiencing disadvantage and disconnection.

Cassy’s spare time is taken up with photography, poetry, and all things Roller Derby, while dreaming of international development work and further travel.
