Viewfinder
The Project:
Viewfinder is a digital story telling project exploring the cultural identities, aspirations and creative expression of young people 12-30 living in Redland Shire.
Our Process:
The project used a peer research model, where young people consulted other young people through interviews and a series of creative arts workshops. The Project Crew was formed through a process of self-nomination and after some skills development it was time to hit the streets.
The Outcome:
Young people from the region were amazing in their response and provided a wealth of ideas, information and opinions about what should happen in Redland Shire.
Views expressed informed Council’s planning for improved cultural development opportunities for teenagers and young adults. Redland Shire Council was so pleased, they asked Human to come back and deliver SoapBox, a community engagement festival that included bands, workshops, interviews, ideas and fun.
