Peer Research & Consultancy

Peer Research & Consultancy is all about engaging a target group of young people to ask their peers (in our case, other young people) about a certain issue.

The aim is to engage young people, assist them in understanding the client’s brief, train them in interview techniques and multimedia equipment use, and to support them to conduct research with their peers.

The outcome is flexible and depends on the type of information being conveyed. There is a structured report, however we love to work with participants to produce the results in a creative way.

Some of our past outcomes have included:

  • film
  • animation
  • digital stories
  • photography and visual art exhibitions
  • installations

A great example of a recent peer research & consultancy project is the Grand Plaza Shopping Centre – Youth Behaviour Protocol.

Peer Research is a powerful tool in engaging young people in a process of skills development, research and active citizenship.  It harnesses the power of peer-to-peer information gathering, challenging perceptions and ownership over outcomes. It is a great way to produce real and meaningful community consultation results – in a creative way!
